Passwordless Authentication Setup

Getting Started

Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS).

Enter your username and password to sign-in with your Ciellos account

Locate your newly added Work or School Account in the Microsoft Authenticator app
Under Other Ways to Sign In section, tap Set up passwordless sign-in requests
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and enable passwordless authentication

If your device is not already registered with Azure AD, the Microsoft Authenticator app will automatically prompt you to complete the registration.

Follow the on-screen instructions to register the device and ensure it is properly enrolled for passwordless sign-in.

After completing the registration and setup steps, wait a few minutes for the configuration to take effect.

Your Passwordless Authentication using the Microsoft Authenticator app will then be active and available for use.

Under Ways to Sign-In or Verify, you should see Passwordless sign-in requests.

Go to the Security Info page in your Entra ID account settings: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
Ensure that Microsoft Authenticator with Passwordless sign-in appears in the list of sign-in methods
If listed, your device is now registered and ready for passwordless authentication

After configuring Passwordless sign-in, Microsoft may still prompt you for your password during your first sign-in.

To switch to Passwordless as your default sign-in method:

Click "Other ways to sign in"
Select "Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app" or "Use an app instead"
Approve the notification on your phone — no password required
